Socialite and philanthropist Malcolm X is returning the entertainment scene.
It is believed he is the manager for entertainer Molefi Nakedi, aka Vulela Ma'weekend.
In the early 2000s, Malcolm X was Khanyi Mbau's manager before ditching her. In an interview with Sowetan, a source close to Malcolm X said he was fed up defending what he called “a morally challenged woman” that he quit by SMS.
“Malcolm had a soft spot for Khanyi but he got tired because he was fighting so many battles because of her low morals,” the source said.
Now sources close to Malcolm X and Vulela suggest he is back in showbiz as a manager.
“Malcolm handles Vulela's bookings and interview appointments. The two are meeting with regards to rebrand him in a form of discipline and respecting his craft as an entertainer,” said source.
Another source said: “Malcolm saw the impact Vulela had in the entertainment scene and didn't want this young man to fall in a trap of being a 'has been' by vanishing into wilderness after fame has vanished. He is being taught a gospel of investing by Malcolm and getting him into TV commercials as that suits his character as an entertainer.”
TshisaLIVE asked Vulela Ma'weekend about the allegations. “My manager is Malcolm, the guy knows the ins and outs of the industry. His credentials can be easily traced, he is my grootman [big brother],” he replied.
“We [are] working together and I'm running the management side of things. We [are] looking for better things and [to] nurture his talent,” said Malcolm X.
