DJ Melzi is set to embark on a world tour and will perform in Qatar, Dubai, UK and US.
The DJ, whose real name is Tumelo Mphai, is known for his songs including Ngalo'Tshwala, La Melza and Bayekele.
Over the weekend the Pretoria-born producer announced the following gigs:
- August 23 at Club Reign in Qatar;
- August 24 at Lekki in Dubai;
- August 25 at Armani Hotel and Soft Life Party in Burj Khalifa in Dubai;
- September 1 Soft Life Party in London;
- September 8 at Fort Lauderdale in Miami, US; and
- September 13 at The Icon Restaurant and Lounge, Richardson, Texas, US.
Speaking to TshisaLIVE, DJ Melzi said he is very excited to be going on tour.
"Before it was more unplanned and was just me going out there to showcase my talent. It is great for me to know this time around I will be touring on demand and not only on my hustle.
"It felt like a step in the right direction. I always keep in mind the saying, 'bietjie bietjie maak meer', which translates 'little little makes more'.
"My fans can expect a great and strong version of myself as I have been working extremely hard the entire year. I will be teasing my new music and sounds. I cannot wait for everyone to see what I have in store for them. Soft Life is set for take-off any time soon. I hope people enjoy this instalment."
DJ Melzi was the centre of controversy a month ago after rumours went viral that he is Nomsa Masuku's son after he posted a picture next to a Mercedes-Benz SUV and social media users suggested the La Melza hitmaker is the son of the IEC commissioner, who has been accused of fraud.
He told TshisaLIVE the malicious rumours hurt him and his parents.
“I don't know the woman. I only got to see her picture on X. I've never met or spoken to her. My parents are private people and such things hurt them.”
