Black Brain Pictures executive director Mandla Ngcongwane, aka Mandla N, says he is willing to help actor Carlo Radebe after he fell on tough times.
Carlo is known for his iconic role as Duke Ngcobo on the e.tv series Backstage. He has also worked on other productions including iNumber Number and How To Steal 2-Million.
In April the actor shot up trends lists after he was said to be struggling to make ends meet. Earlier this month he took to his Facebook page to plead with good Samaritans to assist him as he is struggling to survive.
Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Mandla N — who has worked with Carlo before — said he wanted to have him on his team.
"I'm willing to help him. We deal with audition methods in gathering our casts. I need to engage with the channels in securing something solid. He is a great actor and his name speaks for itself. My hands are tied as the channel will have to give the green light," he said.
Mandla N said he was grateful for the impact Black Brain Pictures has had after it walked away with seven awards at the Royalty Soapie Awards over the weekend.
"We welcome the awards we've received. This means there's a lot of work that needs to be done to keep people glued to our screens."
