Menzi Ngubane’s widow, Sikelelwa, has penned a heartfelt note to the late actor.

Menzi died on March 13 2021 after suffering a stroke at his home. He was 56.

When commemorating Menzi’s heavenly birthday, Sikelelwa took to her timeline to share pictures of him with the caption, “The day God called your name, it broke my heart in two but Heaven needed an angel, and the one he picked was you. I wish he could’ve waited and let you stay with me, but you have left memories in my heart and that’s where they’ll always be.

“I just wish I could rewind the clock or make it turn real slow so that I could hug you one more time before you go. No matter how much time will pass, I will miss you every day, keep shining bright in heaven Nomafu so you can light my way. Happy heavenly birthday Dali.”

Previously speaking to TshisaLIVE, Sikelelwa said her children often missed their father.

“It's still difficult. Every morning I wake up in disbelief that he's really gone. It's unbelievable and still hurts as if it happened yesterday. At least I'm better now because I can speak about him without crying

“The children are struggling, the younger one even lost weight. He doesn't have an appetite. It's bad but we're trying to cope as best as we can. The void he left won't close, but I have to be strong for the children.”

His daughter Siyasanga said she had not been able to watch her father on TV since his death. She said her mother's strength has made her grieving process easier.

“It's been tough, but seeing my mom being so strong makes everything better. It has made our relationship more open. We talk more. We've always been close, but now we speak more.”
