Gospel singer Solly Moholo is in ICU and his family is requesting assistance.
TshisaLIVE reported he fell ill during his tour in Botswana at the weekend and was taken to hospital.
This week his management team released an update.
“Solly was transferred to a South African hospital last night [Wednesday]. He is in ICU and doctors discovered he urgently needs a brain operation. In this difficult time his family, team and friends need your assistance in keeping him alive. Any amount of money would be appreciated. If you want to donate please use the banking details.”
Recently rapper Da L.E.S who suffered a stroke, was moved from a private health facility to a public facility as it was alleged the family couldn't keep up with medical bills. His family asked close friends for financial assistance to pay for his medical bills, A source told TshisaLIVE Da L.E.S was moved to a public hospital.
“Half his face is affected. He can't talk, he's just lying there, it's bad. They were taking him out of a private hospital to a public hospital. I've been there and there's nothing wrong with that hospital. The machines are working and the nurses are amazing. It's going to be a while before he recovers. I think it's like Lira's situation,” the source said.
Award-winning gospel singer Rebecca Malope said: “I didn't know he [Solly] is in hospital. He's going to be in my prayers. I wish such news is well announced. I only learnt about it from you. May the team engage us so we can know how much we can contribute as Solly is our dear brother. We as gospel singers can raise funds needed to keep him alive,” she said.

Kwaito musician Victor Bogopane, aka Doc Shebeleza, said: “I wasn't aware of this news but I think this is a time for us to come together to his aid.
“Life is life and I think Solly needs support financially and spiritually. Medication is expensive. You can have money but you can't access it. Solly has helped a lot of people and I think we should come together and assist our brother in his time of need. This isn't a dialogue for people to laugh when he's seeking assistance. Urge people to assist.”
Sello “Chicco” Twala said: “He is one of my colleagues and it isn't good news what he's going through, I heard he fell. I don't know whether on stage. As one of his colleagues we'll see how we can assist and we also wish him a speedy recovery.”
