Award-winning Afro-pop singer Naima Kay says she's cooking new music set to be released soon.
Real name Lungile Khumalo, Naima is known for her hit singles Lelilanga, Thando and Sokwenzanjani.
Speaking to TshisaLIVE, the Port Shepstone-born singer said she has worked with producer Minero Ngcobo from Newcastle and co-writer Zolani Maseko.
“My first song Kumnandi will be released in September and the album Let's Dance will be released in November. I have elements of Afrobeats, techno and jazzy piano so I call it Let's Dance.
“On this album I decided to explore other elements of dance music and connect with music fans beyond the borders of South Africa. It's a well-structured album and will blow music fans away.”
Naima is set to perform at Silwa Nemimoya Picnic and Doek On Fleek Lifestyle at the Castle Of Good Hope in Cape Town on September 7.
She has been nominated for the fifth South African Afro Music Awards under the Best Female Afro Current and Future Legend category. The ceremony is taking place at the Birchwood Hotel in Boksburg on October 26.
