Thuli Thabethe embraces her ‘multi-hyphenated’ era: acting, coaching and co-parenting

Thuli Thabethe has been juggling multiple roles in the entertainment industry, including acting, coaching and creative strategy. She's embracing her “multi-hyphenated” career, exploring opportunities behind the camera and focusing on youth development.

The actress appears on Mzansi Magic's telenovela Champions season 1 as Nomvula Modise.

“I’m living in my soul-based career era and I love it. I’ve been exploring other avenues within the creative entertainment industry and seeking opportunities that enable me to make the transition from in front of camera to behind the camera and operate more on a management and coaching level. I’ve fallen deeply in love with youth development and the world it opens me up to in terms of social impact,” she told TshisaLIVE. 

With a shift in social media influence which sees people who wouldn't ordinarily take up such roles, Thuli said she now aims to only take on projects she is passionate about and which enable her to make a social impact. 

Thuli recently partnered with Isuzu on a meaningful campaign that resonates with her values. The campaign embodies the Isuzu ethos, which prioritises enabling the best possible life for every consumer, regardless of their journey, emphasising the importance of continuous service and selflessness, and aiming to make a positive impact on consumers' lives.  

“I like to work with brands that resonate with who I am on a heart and mind level. It’s really important to me that the brands I collaborate with align with my personal values, interests and aspirations. I love organic and authentic brands.”

Apart from her career, Thuli's favourite role to play is mother to her son Ruri, who she shares with Metro FM presenter Thabo “Tbo Touch” Molefe.

“I always put the best interest of the child first. The most worthwhile thing about co-parenting is our ability to make bold decisions for our son's future despite how we feel. Our son’s best interest always comes first.”
