Durban A-listers will welcome convict Mbuso Zulu back home after his release from prison at a special event on Tuesday that will also serve as a platform to discuss crime prevention.
Organised by Usengashintsha (You can still change), an organisation of which Zulu is a founder and the president, the event will be supported by celebrities such as Bhar, Skeem GP, Thando Mseleku, Tzozo and many others.
“As our founder, Mbuso Zulu and the organisation will convene a comprehensive event tackling pressing issues like gender-based violence (GBV), crime and rehabilitation. The programme will feature: guest speakers and panel discussions; testimonials from former inmates; presentations on our organisation's initiatives; interactive sessions with parolees; inspirational talks from notable guests; donations of food parcels to those in need; participation from local schools and communities,” the organisation said
Speaking to TshisaLIVE, kwaito singing star Sfiso Mshengu, aka Bhar, said Zulu is a visionary leader and tireless worker who has spent his years empowering individuals to positively impact the community,
“He has remained dedicated to the organisation's mission of supporting prisoners/inmates and the broader community. Through Usengashintsha he has made significant strides in providing essential services, including housing, food and other basic needs and support needed by the community,” he said.
Ex convict Themba Lukhele, aka Skeem GP, said: “Upon his release Mbuso Zulu will resume his work with renewed passion and energy, seeking collaborative opportunities to drive meaningful change in the country. His goal is to inspire and bring value to people's lives, fostering a culture of trust, growth and community engagement.”
