“Sechaba was a no-show at our event and he didn't only disappoint us but also his diehard fans who waited hours for his scheduled performance.”
These are the words of event organiser Daniel Mogale who hosted the Polokwane Worship Night at the New Generation Church near Lebowakgomo in Limpopo last week.
Gospel singer Sechaba Pali told TshisaLIVE that the event organiser had used his image for which he received no payment and was told the event had been postponed.
“To my surprise I was attacked by my fans on social media that I didn't pitch for a gig which I was told had been postponed. These people are really denting my brand. I've worked hard only to have my name to be degraded by these so-called small promoters. I'm disappointed”, he said.
Mogale told TshisaLIVE Sechaba charged them R25,000 and they had transferred R10,000 as a deposit to secure him to perform on the day.
“We asked him to assist us by posting the event on his social pages. To my surprise he was busy posting a gig in Botswana which was scheduled for the same date as ours. And we've never postponed the event, all artists came through except Sechaba,” he said.
“This guy has a tendency of not pitching up at gigs he is booked at, but this time around we gave him the benefit of doubt because we love him and we want him back in the music scene,” Mogale added.
