Hip-hop star Pitch Black Afro is headlining at the Back To The City festival.

Pitch Black Afro, real name Thulani Ngcobo, is known for his hit album Stylin Gel, released in 2004 under DJ Cleo's label Wills Of Steel Production.

The Hennessy Back To The City festival is celebrating 18 years of hip-hop excellence and 30 years of freedom.

This year’s festival promises to be an unforgettable experience. Featuring more than 100 artists, it will take place on October 12 at Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown, Johannesburg.

Acts include Blxckie, Emtee, Nadia Nakai, Okmalumkoolkat, DJ PH and DJ Zan-D.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, the Ntofontofo hitmaker says he is grateful to be in the line-up.

“I'll be sharing the stage with top artists and looking forward to my performance as I've been performing around the country. I'm glad to say I'm still appreciated by these new rappers and my flow is still relevant to this age group.

“I'm working hard in my studio at home recording new music and soon will collaborate with a few rappers to create the sound needed.”
