Gospel music fans are in for a treat at this year's Replenishment concert, dubbed the “Coachella of Gospel”.
The concert, to be staged at the SuperSport Park Stadium in Centurion on September 28, will see some of the top gospel acts set the stage alight, with expected performances from Dr Rebecca Malope, Lebo Sekgobela, Dumi Mkokstad, Dr Tumi, Teboho Moloi, Thinah Zungu, Sbu Noah, Kabelo "Bouga Luv" Mabalane and many more artists.
Metro FM's Tbo Touch, a founder of the concert, revealed he is putting final touches on his gospel album with Zakes Bantwini.
“One can’t wait for the first stage collaboration of two different generations. I’m thrilled at this year’s Replenishment as we present Dr Rebecca Malope performing her classics and later collaborating with Dumi Mkokstaad. It’s going to be breathtaking and this will be showcased just before sunset at 4.45pm. So don’t miss this epic moment,” he said.
“The stage is set for the Replenishment gospel album which will feature original compositions alongside music producers such as Zakes Bantwini, which is also what I'm excited about.”
Rebecca Malope said she is excited to be included in the concert's line up, and will be looking forward to performing some of the classic songs from her musical catalogue.
“I've thought of bringing back those classic gospel songs. Certainly my fans should expect the best from the best with gospel tunes. People come to listen to the songs of praise and worship. You know I've a total of 36 albums and I have 35 triple platinum ... my performance will be dedicated to them for their support over the years,” she said.
