Ndivhuwo Muhanelwa, popularly known as Nochill God, is using his social media earnings to build an empire.
The social media star who garnered a huge following on social media (510,700 on TikTok, 155,800 on X and 288,000 on Instagram) shot to fame for his videos where he pretends to video call renowned celebrities.
“If it wasn't for social media I don't think I would be here. It changed a lot in my life. I am now recognisable because of social media. I've made some cents on social media. Social media is the current and the future, which means if you are not on social media now it's going to be hard for you to manoeuvre around the world we live in,” he told TimesLIVE.
“Social media is the future and it can change your life. You have to get on a platform and showcase your skills to the world. Being a celebrity is no longer about being on TV. Being on people's small screens is the new thing.”
This helped him expand his career as an author after releasing his first book titled The Influencer's Code last October and become a public speaker. Ndivhuwo emphasises the significance of social media and the importance of building digital assets.
“We've already sold more than 6,000 copies so that makes me consider myself one of the best-selling authors. I never imagined I would get to this. It's going so well I'm converting the book into a course.”
When Ndivhuwo is not entertaining his followers on social media he works in aviation as an air traffic controller.
“I have a 9-5 [job] so I don't need to touch that money. The social media money is for building the empire, but my 9-5 is the money I'm eating. I've made enough to sustain myself for the next 10 years. I don't like playing with figures, but to be humble and motivate others I've made more than R600,000 which I have managed to build assets with and reinvest.
“Social media pays but it's not enough for everyone. You need to build what I call digital assets. I host online courses and have a book about social media. You have to use the numbers you garner [to] get revenue. So long as you keep your reputation clean and not talk about controversial stuff you will survive.”
