The popular Pizza Monday featuring DJ Maphorisa is the talk of the town.
The event attracts thousands of people from different walks of life to the Cosmopolitan Lounge in Johannesburg's Maboneng Precinct.
Speaking to TshisaLIVE, event manager Novel Wolde says Pizza Monday is a day to have fun and create good memories.
“The speakers bang away any stress you might feel about the coming week. We saw the gap in Monday entertainment in Maboneng and decided to start Monday parties. When we started, we booked different DJs for Monday. The day we booked Phori (Maphorisa) everything changed,” he said.
“Maboneng has for all intents and purposes become what some of us might refer to as a strip. Granted the clubs are not in a straight line down a main vein in the city but there are a host clustered on the famous sector on Main Street in the always exhilarating east side of the city.
“We’re having a big street festival for end-of-year celebrations where we will book the biggest artists in the game. The Pizza Monday event is all about diversity and having good ambience.”
