Emtee is unharmed after crashing his car at The Precinct Luxury Apartments in Midrand on Monday night.

The rapper was driving his silver Volkswagen Caravelle T5 when he collided with a parked car. Images of Emtee, real name Mthembeni Ndevu, at the scene of the wrecked vehicles quickly shot up trends lists, with many speculating whether he was under the influence of marijuana.

"Not that anybody cares but I'm OK. It's all over because of who I am. If I was a normal citizen, it would have never happened that way. It's a trend to talk sh*t about me," he told TshisaLIVE.

"I can't talk about it. I'm not like them. I don't have a loud mouth. The accident happened and that's that. I'm alive, he's alive. Everything will be sorted. I don't know why people are talking so much. It's all because my name is all over this thing."

Asked whether he was sober when the accident happened, Emtee responded: "Yes. The same people lied to the police and said I was drunk. That time I don't drink alcohol. Yes, I smoke weed — but I don't drink alcohol."

The Roll Up hitmaker said he was convinced many were trying to tarnish his name and were seeking any opportunity to do so.

"It is time to embarrass and talk sh*t about me. It is time to kick me while I'm down. I'm not down though. People want to amplify my sh*t. People are disrespecting me and doing funny things like that. I don't know the man I had an accident with. There's insurance."

"If I died everybody was going to say RIP. I'm alive and people are sh*tting on me."

TshisaLIVE reached out to Johannesburg metro police department spokesperson Xolani Fihla for comment. This will be included when it is received.
