DJ Oscar Mbo has launched his Oscar Mbo Foundation, which donates food parcels and writing materials, in Kriel, Mpumalanga.
Oscar established the NPO and tasked it to do charity work in his name.
The Yes God hitmaker said the foundation will engage in charitable work in Kriel.
“I'm proudly tracing my roots and part of my journey is through [the] education system provided by my hometown. After having done well in my career, especially this year, where I got to travel the world to showcase my skills, partnering with international brands such as Steve Madden and D'usse, and winning awards, I saw it prudent to go back to where it began for me, to celebrate with my community and inspire them.”
TshisaLIVE has learnt the Oscar Mbo Foundation visited Sibongamandla High School for a three-hour session.
“The activities included me presenting the pupils with exam packs filled with goodies in preparation of the exams. A braai was held to feed the pupils on the day. I also did motivational speaking, giving pupils the doorstep of adulthood guidance in navigating the real world, and inspired them that success is possible even if you come from a small town,” Oscar added.
