The Cultural Urban Festival Africa  in Bloemfontein turned into a battleground for Makhadzi and Oscar Mbo. The controversy began when Makhadzi accused Oscar of sabotaging her performance by removing her USB.

Makhadzi took to social media to express her frustration and apologise to her fans. She claimed Oscar's actions cut her set short, leaving her and her fans disappointed.

"I am sorry to perform 20 minutes. I don't know if this is all about Oscar Mbo PR trend but why in such crazy moments when people paid money to see us? Unfortunately Oscar's DJ removed my USB when I was about to finish," she wrote.

She later went live to explain her side of the story: "Your DJ can tell you what happened. I was cutting songs to finish so fast, and he pulled off the USB. I begged him to perform only one last song because, from our contract, we agreed I must perform 45 minutes. Instead he showed me that if I don’t go off, he’s going to embarrass me."

Oscar has since clarified the situation was a result of poor coordination by the event organiser. He claimed there was an agreement to divide their performance times equally as Makhadzi had arrived late.

"You performed in my time slot. I performed 10 minutes because you had used my time.  No one took you off. You got off stage after performing all the songs you wanted," he said.

He said he was told Makahdzi was late and the agreement was for her to perform for 20 minutes, which she ended up exceeding. The promoters then informed Makhadzi's team they exceeded the time, and a source present at the event corroborated his side of the story when speaking to TshisaLIVE.

This is not the first time Oscar has been lambasted by a Limpopo star.

In early October, there were calls to boycott the DJ and producer's events after rising star Melita Mogale, popularly known as Kharishma, was allegedly forcefully removed from the stage while performing.

Oscar apologised to the rising star in the comment section of her post: “Apologies to you my sister."
