INK Kasi Xperience is celebrating 10 years of existence.
This year's INK Xperience will take place at Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu, Durban on December 15, with artists including Sjava, Somizi, Morda, MaWhoo, Lerato Kganyago, DJ Sabby, Lwa Ndlunkulu, DJ Sox, Gatsheni, Professor, Dladla Mshunqisi, Babes Wodumo, Goldmax, Zakwe, Beast, DJ Flymotion and Slenda Da Dancing DJ.
Speaking to TshisaLIVE, event organiser Philani Ngwenya, aka “Splash”, said: "Since all big events were happening in town, I saw it fit to do one in the township by giving patrons a full 'Kasi Xperience'. I decided to include surrounding townships (Inanda, Ntuzuma and KwaMashu) and INK-Kasi Xperience was formed.
“Funding is always a challenge, specially when you do an outdoor event of this magnitude, as costs are high for artists, production and marketing and so on. Partnering with Metro FM and SABC1 gives us the opportunity to attract people from outside our area. More jobs are created thus supporting township tourism.
“We are planning to bring cycling to our shores through 'Tour de Kasi' and will keep you informed.”
