Johannesburg leg of 'Friends of Amstel' premium music and lifestyle event hailed as big success

The Johannesburg leg of the “Friends of Amstel” premium music and lifestyle event has been hailed as a big success.

With some of South Africa's hottest musical talent performing, the event, staged at The Ground in Muldersdrift, Johannesburg, attracted thousands of people. Artists who performed at the event included Kelvin Momo, Kabza De Small, Dlala Thukzin, K.O., Pearl Thusi, Zee Nxumalo, DJ Kent and Njelic.

DJ Kent's manager Tumi Mokitlane told TshisaLIVE the event was a true reflection of diversity and appreciation for South African talent.

“As you can see people from different parts of the country are here and they are appreciating all artists who've taken the stage to display what their music fans want and need. DJ Kent is always at his best behind the decks. It is refreshing to see masses combined for nothing but love of music,” he said.

Dlala Thukzin said: “My brother, we were not here to render our services but to meet our friends, family and fans so we can showcase our craft and they can witness it first hand. You know as artists we have busy schedules around the world but I appreciate the love people have showed to each and every artist who has performed at the Friends Of Amstel. I'm currently preparing for Soundland in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, next month. So, there's a lot I'm busy with currently.”
