In addition to being a businesswoman and reality TV star, Nonku Williams has added author to her growing resume.

Nonku has penned a raw and honest account of her life's journey in her upcoming memoir, Unapologetically Me.

“I was inspired to write Unapologetically Me to share the journey behind the person people see on screen — a journey of survival, resilience and faith. Life hasn’t been easy, but through every challenge I’ve found strength. I hope readers see they’re not alone in their struggles, and that regardless of where they come from or what they’ve faced, they have the power to rise, heal and rebuild,” she told TshisaLIVE.

The first volume of the book took her more than a year to put together as she wanted to give each part of her life the attention it deserved.

“The writing process was intense, emotional and rewarding. I did work with an editor who helped me shape my experiences into a cohesive story, but every word comes from my heart. Together, we ensured my voice, my truth, came through authentically.”

She plans to put out more books to give her readers time to absorb each stage of her journey.

“Each volume represents a different chapter in my life, allowing readers to walk alongside me step by step.

“The hardest part was discussing the abusive relationships I endured. Reliving those moments was incredibly painful, but it was also freeing. I knew I had to be honest about that pain if my story was going to make a difference for women facing similar struggles. Sharing those experiences was about showing strength through vulnerability and reminding readers healing is possible.”

Since appearing on Real Housewives of Durban and The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, life has changed dramatically for Nonku.

“Reality TV taught me to be unapologetically myself, no matter who is watching or what people say. It was like a live rehearsal for writing a memoir — owning my story publicly, without filters. Sharing my life on television helped me realise my voice has power, and that transparency, no matter how raw, can resonate deeply with others.”

While often misunderstood, Nonku said she wants to leave a legacy of empowerment.

"My goal is to uplift others and give back to the community.

“My children are my biggest motivation and my strongest source of strength. They’re why I’m here today, still pushing forward. Writing this memoir, I often thought of them. I want them to know my story, to understand that no matter how tough things get, they too have the strength to overcome. Every word I wrote was also a step toward healing and growth, not just for me but for them as well.”
