Carol Bouwer 'honoured' to be invited to Commonwealth summit
Businesswomen Carol Bouwer was a panelist at the Commonwealth Student Governance Summit 2024 in Malaysia.
The summit was held at Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Cyberjaya, Malaysia, from November 15-17.
Bouwer said to TshisaLIVE: "[I'm] honoured that as a South African I continue to be invited to share on various issues of importance to me globally. I don’t take the opportunity lightly, and as a licence holder for an international platform for leadership I believe it is great opportunity for our winners to garner recognition globally. By the time Zoize [Zoalize Jansen van Rensburg] lands abroad other candidates will know her, due to these platforms where I have taken her along."
Bouwer also shared on her social media page: "Honoured to have addressed the Commonwealth Student Governance Summit 2024 where my focus was on young people taking the reigns of leadership to offer solutions for the future, which clearly includes them more than ourselves. My address echoed the voices of other speakers from around the Commonwealth, but I am particularly proud of @missworldsouthafrica @zoalizevr who got to address an esteemed audience of youth leaders as she prepares for many future global audiences for her message of inclusion, advocating for young voices through her #beautywithapurpose project @nevertooyoungtoadvocate and youth leadership here at home. I will share her address with you as well. Attached hereto is a shortened edit of my address. #commonwealthstudentgovernancesummit2024 #missworldsouthafrica."
