Businessman and socialite Edwin Sodi is expanding his nightclub business.

Last year he acquired a stake in LIV Sandton, (formerly known as Taboo) a popular celeb hangout spot in Sandon after a legal tussle with his partners. TshisaLIVE can now reveal that another celeb hotspot LIV is opening up on November 29 on Bree Street in Cape Town.

Sodi is the majority shareholder. The who's who of the entertainment industry are expected to descend on the Mother City for the launch.

A source privy to the information said: “He owns the place now. It's a done deal. He has been finalising everything this month. The idea came about early this year. He is happy with his latest project.”

Another source said: “The last three months he has been giving out hints on his status and you could not pick it up. Cape Town nightlife will never be the same again. Edwin knows the business inside out. The Sandton LIV is a success and the Cape Town one there is no doubt about it. We are going to party hard this summer. My bags are ready for the launch.”

Sodi refused this week to comment on the opening of the club.
