Singer Bassie is set to dazzle music fans at the Lumo Lounge in the Featherbrooke Village Shopping Centre in Ruimsig on the West Rand on Saturday.
Up-and-coming vocalist and musician Bassie, real name Basetsana Maluleke, is known for songs such as Izenzo, Kwelanga, Sizani and many more.
She discovered her passion for singing at a tender age and later transitioned from being a cheerleader at 12 to becoming a dedicated conductor during her high school years.
Speaking to TshisaLIVE, owner of the lavish establishment Lucky Mpilo said the restaurant was curated for the curious and creative.
“It’s about the feeling you get when you are there and the way you want to keep that feeling when you leave.
“Lumo is Inspired by the willingness to let go and let it be. The Afrocentricness of being yourself and one with nature. The brokenness that forms part of the essence of you”, he said.
The main focus of Lumo is great food and interior followed by great music that sets the tone to ultimate lounging and dining experience which transcends into the #DineandDance philosophy of having great food paired with a lifestyle that embodies a great culture. The space is a mixture of various styles and techniques which blends the love of abstract art, sculptures, Afro Chic designs and modern aesthetics.
“The restaurant also encompasses the love for interior, design and furniture and completes this touch by ensuring that every single piece of furniture in the space can actually be bought. We can source, upholster and also provide turnkey interior services for all patrons visiting the space,” Mpilo added.
