Mahuma Group showcased two theatrical plays during the Mapungubwe Arts Festival's Theatre Nights at Library Gardens in Polokwane on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Darren Ru van Rensburg said Get Down Productions and Mahuma Group headlined this year's event. They performed two musical plays titled What If, written, directed and executively produced by Matome Rapetsoa, and Beyond, written by Mahuma Paul Rapetsoa, directed by Mahuma and Matome and executively produced by Matome.
"As we are currently in the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children campaign and with Sunday being World Aids Day, we choose the two plays to make sure we conscientise the audience that enough is enough and #ItsAboutTime to stand up against abuse," Van Rensburg said.
"One of our actors, Shibu Molomo, is nominated for the SA Traditional Music Awards and as a company we fully support one of our own. We launched #50VotesForShibuMolomo so all our followers jump so the award can come to Limpopo. She’s an amazing artist and it will be seen when she wins the award in Durban this weekend."
