Fresh from her US shows, Uncle Waffles is to take part in Lit Fridays at the Cosmopolitan in Maboneng, Johannesburg, on Friday night.

The Eswatini-born DJ and producer, whose real name is Lungelihle Zwane, is noted for her work in the amapiano genre and her dancing abilities, with Billboard describing her as the “princess of amapiano”.

She has gone from playing in pubs around Johannesburg to captivating millions of fans around the globe. A cultural ambassador for the amapiano movement, her thirst for knowledge, creative spark and work ethic have put her at the top of the game and helped spread the sound she loves worldwide.

In June the Wadibusa hitmaker was rubbing shoulders with US superstar Pharrell Williams at the Louis Vuitton headquarters in Paris, France.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Cosmopolitan promoter Tenny Tshabalala said: “The excitement is crazy and the venue is a sold-out affair. Uncle Waffles promised a night to remember for her fans.”
