Kwaito legend Sbu Malawyer is expected to set the stage alight at the Inguquko Music and Food Festival.
The festival will take place on December 15 at the Bears Palace Arena in Carolina, Mpumalanga; with an exciting line-up that includes Trompies, Alaska, Sir Trill, Pcee and Justin99.
Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Sbusiso Ntshangase, aka Sbu Malawyer, well known for being a member of TKZee Family and Mashamplani, said music fans attending the Inguquko event can expect interaction between himself and them.
“The energy and entertainment, I’ll be making them reminisce, because most of the songs we perform bring back great memories, hope and love, since. We still try by all means to look good and healthy. We are an inspiration to both young and old. We are not just kwaito legends but husbands, uncles and fathers. We're also role models,” he said.
Sbu Malawyer said he was enjoying the recognition and respect he was getting from people who were embracing the kwaito genre.
“You see the significant part that we have played in the music industry, both in entertainment and politically. Kwaito is one genre that has made its mark in the South African music scene, especially in the townships. Currently, I’m pushing thrifting, since I grew up loving fashion — I’m fusing fashion and music,” he added.
