Congratulations are in order for YFM DJ Supta and his partner of ten years Tebello Moloi who are expecting their first child.

The excited couple recently took to their timeline to share a picture of their pregnancy photo shoot.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Supta, whose real name is Siyabulela Sithole, opened up about the emotional moment when he found out he was going to be a dad.

“She wasn't feeling well and decided to do a pregnancy test. She took two or three. Then when I got home from work she gave me the pregnancy test. I saw those lines and I was just so happy because I am at a point where I'm ready, where I'd love to be a father to someone and when I got the news I got so fulfilled,” he said.

“It's nerve-racking. It's scary but it's an experience we look forward to. We know it's going to be challenging but we also know it's going to be fulfilling and bring so much joy to us. Fortunately for us, we are aligned in so many different ways as husband and wife so we are excited about this rollercoaster of a journey which has been beautiful this far.”

As Supta prepares to become a father, he's also reflecting on how this new role will affect his career and personal growth.

“I have always had a deep meaning about who I want to be and what I want to do in the industry, but I've realised this young person coming now is going to make me view the industry differently and give me a much deeper meaning to work harder, to do more. To stop procrastinating and to bring my ideas to life because everything has to work. It's not only for me now. I have to do things and do things right.”

Supta and his partner are focusing on learning as much as they can to adapt to their new role as parents.

“It's going to be a different challenge knowing I have this person looking up to me and I have to be a role model to this person. We are going to do such cool stuff. I am going to be the cool dad but teach them life and how to be responsible, kind, loving, humble and genuine.”

They are also looking forward to instilling their Christian values in their child and teaching them important life lessons.

“I come from a Christian family setting, my wife and I, and that's the foundation we know and want to instil in our child. We are taking it one day at a time. There's so much to consider. Some of the things you can never prepare for, but we are planning on learning as much as possible to adapt. We're ready for this new chapter.”
