Reality TV star Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize has found herself between a rock and a hard place.

Shortly after her divorce from ex-husband Sbu Mpisane, MaMkhize started to face trouble with the SA Revenue Service (Sars) for allegedly evading tax, which led to the recent raid at her house in Umhlanga, Durban, where luxury cars were seized.

This week, MaMkhize's football team Royal AM will not honour their Betway premiership clash against Chippa United because the players have not been paid.

Chippa United released a statement saying: “To our supporters, Chippa United Football Club announces with disappointment that our scheduled fixture against Royal AM, set for January 11 at 5.45pm at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, has been postponed by the league with no given reason. This decision, made by the Premier Soccer League at the last minute, comes after all necessary arrangements, including logistics and venue preparations, had been finalised.”

A source told TshisaLIVE the public shouldn't be fooled by MaMkhize “flexing” or her son's [Andile Mpisane] “flexing” as it's just pretence that things are OK.

“Royal AM players have been on a go slow [since] late last year as some players were getting half their salaries and some weren't getting paid at all. Last year during [the] off season they wanted to place the team on sale. Sars raiding their property was the final nail in the coffin,” said the source.

“Don't forget MaMkhize, with her son, owe [striker] Samir Nurković R15m and [defender] Ricardo Nascimento R600,000, respectively,” the source alleged. “They are between a rock and hard place.”

In 2021, Royal AM and their officials received a whopping R1.65m fine regarding various charges the Durban club pleaded guilty to in relation to a DStv Premiership match where MaMkhize and Andile handed out cash to players on the field.

Efforts to obtain comment from MaMkhize and Andile failed as they weren't available.
