Controversial blogger Musa Khawula has allegedly been caught on the wrong side of the law and has been arrested again, just less than two months after spending time in jail.
Khawula is known for hanging out the dirty laundry of high profile personalities on social media.
The self-proclaimed “pope of pop culture” once brought audiences huge doses of daily tea.
Two months ago, Musa was slapped with a new warrant of arrest after he made defamatory remarks about businessman Ze Nxumalo. He alleged Nxumalo cheated on his wife Tamaryn Green-Nxumalo.
At the time, Musa was ordered through a court order obtained by the couple to write out an apology and retraction, which he failed to do.
In July, Musa was jailed for 90 days for contempt of court after he refused to comply with a defamation verdict obtained by ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula’s wife Nozuko, which barred Musa from posting corruption allegations about her on X.
Police spokesperson Lt-Col Mavela Masondo confirmed Musa is in custody. “Police can confirm the suspect was arrested in KwaZulu-Natal on Wednesday after a warrant of arrest was issued for him. He is expected to appear in the Newcastle magistrate's court where the matter will be transferred to Gauteng. He faces a charge of contravention of the Cybercrimes Act.”
