Mzansi creativity manager Bounce has worked with some of the country's top musicians.

Real name Victor Dlokolo, Bounce has been driven by a passion for collaboration and storytelling.

This ethos has enabled his company to work with some of South Africa’s most iconic talents, including Babes Wodumo, DJ Tira’s Afrotainment, Witness the Funk (WTF), Zameka, and Sands Music. He said Bounce Ideas believes in the power of strategy, innovation and storytelling to transform ideas into unforgettable experiences.

TshisaLIVE caught up with the Khayelitsha-born creative, who described his journey in the entertainment industry.

What led you to enter into the talent management industry?

I’ve always been passionate about storytelling and creating platforms for individuals to shine. Early on, I noticed a gap in the industry — many talented artists lacked the strategic support to help them navigate their careers and position themselves effectively in the market. My natural inclination towards collaboration and building relationships inspired me to step into talent management. I wanted to empower artists and brands to reach their fullest potential, not just through traditional management but by crafting compelling narratives and delivering unique strategies that set them apart.

Which TV personalities, artists and radio professionals have you worked with?

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with some of South Africa’s most celebrated talents. This includes music powerhouses and emerging stars. My work has extended to radio show plugging, connecting artists with influential platforms to amplify their reach. I’ve also collaborated with brands and personalities for projects like music video concepts, social media strategies and endorsement campaigns, ensuring their visibility and impact in competitive spaces.

What are the challenges of your work?

One of the biggest challenges is staying ahead in an industry that is constantly evolving. Trends change rapidly and it’s essential to remain innovative while maintaining authenticity in the stories we tell. Another challenge is managing the expectations of clients while balancing their creative vision with the realities of market demand. It’s also a highly competitive space where standing out requires not just talent but a robust strategy. Lastly, working with multiple stakeholders — whether artists, brands or media outlets — requires a high level of co-ordination and adaptability.

What inspired you to venture into the industry?

I’ve always been fascinated by the intersection of creativity and strategy. Growing up, I admired how music, fashion, and media could shape culture and influence people’s lives. I wanted to be part of that ecosystem, helping artists and brands not just to exist but to thrive. Seeing raw talent transform into a household name is incredibly fulfilling, and knowing I played a role in that journey keeps me inspired. My passion for collaboration and building long-term relationships also drives me to keep finding new ways to elevate others.

What are your future plans?

While talent management and brand building remain at the heart of what I do, I’m constantly exploring new opportunities to innovate and expand. For example, my recent venture into the tech space with a rent-luggage solution in partnership with an Austrian airline has shown me the potential of blending creativity with problem-solving in entirely new industries.

In the future, I plan to continue working with emerging and established talents, helping them create legacies that last. I also aim to grow Bounce Ideas into a global name synonymous with innovation, storytelling and excellence. Whether it’s discovering the next big star, forging meaningful brand collaborations, or launching groundbreaking projects, I want my career to be a testament to the power of ideas and the impact they can have when brought to life.
