SABC1’s Generations: The Legacy is shaking things up this year with a young, dynamic cast.
Season 34 promises to be filled with drama, action and suspense as young, fresh faces join the longest-running soapie in South Africa.
Sicelo Mabaso will play Samkelo, a charmer hustler with charisma in bucketloads. He is street savvy, hustling to the top, easy to love and can code-switch depending on who he is with.
“I am grateful to have got the role after such a gruelling and nail-biting audition process. A life-changing experience and to many it will start making sense. A gifted kid compelled by a passion for the arts,” said Sicelo.

Athie Cwele will play the character of Kamogelo Moroka, Kea’s son who is studying digital marketing and software engineering. He plans to start his own business when he finishes his studies.
Athie had this to say about the opportunity: “There are no words that suffice to express how it feels being on a show as big as Generations. But above and beyond anything it is a blessing to me and I am grateful for the opportunity.”
Another young actor joining the cast is Vuyolwethu Matiwane, who will play the role of Lulama, a young woman from East London.

Vuyolwethu said: “I am overwhelmed with gratitude and do not know where to begin! I thank the producers for believing in me and offering me this incredible opportunity to join the Generations: The Legacy family. I am humbled to be part of such an iconic South African soapie and I promise to give it my all and make the most of this amazing role. Thank you again, a dream come true!”
