After days of dreaming about Smash Afrika announcing she must leave the Big brother house, lo and behold Gugu is the fourth contestant to be evicted from the Big Brother Mzansi: Umlilo competition.

Despite this, Gugu, real name Nokulunga Ndabezitha, has expressed gratitude for the experience and the opportunity to be on the show.

“When I had a dream about myself, because I hardly dream about myself, something told me this might really happen. I can't wait to start my life over again. I've been wanting to be on Big Brother so this experience was so great, I wouldn't change it for the world. The dream definitely prepared me. The year just began, so I still have an advantage.

“The experience is as I expected. It happened the way it was supposed to happen. For me, it's how God willed it,” Gugu told TshisaLIVE.

The first thing she did on her exit was pray, as she had not been able to do so in the house during the 24/7 surveillance.

“I didn't want to lead with my calling. I really wanted to just come in as Gugu because outside the house I am known as the prophet. I just wanted to have a good time and that's what I had.

“Yes I will always be gifted but it's not the main part of me. It's just a part of me that is beautiful but there is a lot more of me that I needed to showcase.”

Gugu said she was conscious of stigmas regarding people who have a spiritual calling and wanted to show that beyond it, there's a whole other person.

“It had to stop because I couldn't light a candle. I didn't want people to feel uncomfortable or to use it as a tactic to scare them. We try to debunk a lot of myths so I am trying to get into a space where people are not afraid of our gifts. I wanted it to be a teachable moment about our gifts.”

Gugu's strategy going into the house was to present herself as a strict and older figure, but she soon realised this approach wasn't sustainable.

She pretended to be a 39-year-old while she was just 34.

“I thought I should come in and play this strict person but I realised I'm way too soft and that strategy only lasted a week. I wouldn't change it because I loved how people respected me in the house.”

Coming out of the house, Gugu says she is more confident in herself and cannot wait to take over the world.

“I plan on getting back into corporate doing PR and marketing, elevating my content. I used to post videos about spirituality and they [people] were interested, and now I want to make content pieces that will help people whenever I am unable to help them.

“As people, we can sometimes help ourselves without relying on healers. Sometimes the power is within you, so the content I want to do will remind people of that.”
