Choreographer and creative director Siyanda Mwandla spreads the love

Internationally acclaimed choreography and creative director Siyanda Mwandla stunned with The Marriage Dance at the State Theatre in Pretoria.

Billed as a Valentine's Day seminar with a “dance-flavoured twist” and a special narrative of how couples can drive dance principles and rules as a metaphor towards a successful marriage state of mind”, the performance was presented by Monwabisi and Phindi and choreographed and directed by Mwandla.

The audience was left asking for more on Friday evening at the iconic South African State Theatre.

Mwandla is one of South Africa's most acclaimed show directors, well known as the creative director of the annual SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards and for many other big projects that he has been part of either as a creative director and producer.

Siyanda has worked with the likes of Lindelani Mkhize & Joyous Celebration, Duma KaNdlovu on Ingoma (KwaZulu-Natal Dance Company) which toured the US and received standing ovations.

After many years working closely with the late Zanele Mbokazi, founder of the Crown Gospel Awards, Mwandla has accumulated a lot of experience and excelled in his craft, being regarded as one of the best in the industry.

Siyanda began his career under the watch of the late legendary Mbongeni Ngema as a performer before venturing into directing and choreography.

Some of Mwandla's work includes the annual SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards; Mrs Universe 2018; Joyous Celebration;   KZN Entertainment Awards; Tourism Lilizela Awards; Gcwalisa Spring Picnic; South African Teachers Awards; Trumpet Africa Gospel Music Awards; and The Marriage Dance.

He has also worked as a choreographer for commercial artists such as Professor, Uhuru, Malini, Big Nuz, Mondli Ngcobo, DJ Bongs, Busiswa and many others.
