Ahead of her Mending Hearts with Gugu Da DJ event due to take place on March 2 at Hilltop Lifestyle in Soshanguve, alongside some local house DJ and musicians, TshisaLIVE spoke to the rising star about her music and future ventures.

What can your fans expect from your performance at your upcoming  event?

This time we are doing things differently; we have a live performance line-up and motivational speakers. My experience encompasses a diverse range of genres from classical rare tunes to soul and R&B.

How do you think your sound will resonate with the crowd ?

My creed will resonate with me because I focus on identifying the key characteristics of my target audience and play music that is likely to connect with them.

Who do you draw your inspiration from, locally and internationally?

The person who has mostly inspired me is my late mom. She loved and breathed music and her kindness and selfless personality is what people remember her for.

What are you currently working on besides your music career?

I host events and I have big stars that I promote like Nicksoul, who is busy with his mini tour as we speak.
