Media personality Lerato Kganyago and her husband Thami Ndlala are making money making moves. And their latest business venture — the purchase of a mall in Pretoria — has many green with envy.

The Sterland Mall, in Sunnyside, has been rebranded as the Ndlala Mall, with exciting developments on the way, Lerato recently revealed.

“The mall is nearing completion with exciting additions on the way. Including new restaurants, a barbershop, a hair extension store, residential apartments and a nightclub. We are looking forward to these developments,” she wrote.

While many congratulated the couple on their achievement, others couldn't help but express their criticism. One social media user questioned why Lerato's husband's name was featured prominently on the mall.

“Did he have to mention by Thami Ndlala, that's the problem with black people, we make noise when we have money. Real wealth is silent, if it was a white guy owning this building, you would know.”

Lerato was quick to clap back at the troll, saying, “You are a bunch of evil people that hate black success. Is Rupert silently running your lives in this country? Or is the self-hatred in your blood? Did you want me to put your dad's name?”

When it comes to romantic gestures, Lerato and her partner have consistently won the Valentine’s Olympics since making their relationship public.

On Valentine’s Day 2022 Lerato revealed her hubby gave her a hotel and restaurant named Hillel Villa and Spa Hotel, but she has since distanced herself from it after it was marred by allegations of failed payments.

“I removed myself from the hotel a long time ago because I have an alcohol brand that's coming up ... I realised the hospitality industry is not something I'm passionate about. I want to focus on my business. The people who work for me are fully paid. People who work for me are living their best lives in Cape Town.

“Who are these people you are talking about? The ones on Kganyago productions and Flutter by LKG are fully paid.”

During her candid interview with DJ Fresh a year ago, Lerato opened up about her marriage to the businessman.

“I did not think I was going to get married. I did not think I would have a husband or someone to go to every day because I was single for so many years. I loved my independence. I loved the fact that I could come home and not speak to anyone,” she said.

“Each and every day I'm embracing my marriage. It started off really tough in a sense of my marriage being in a huge attack in the beginning, which I didn't understand. I also feel like it's because I kept my private life private for so long.”

“He definitely did not bring any hunger into my life.”
