Singer Queen Gojelicious is on a mission to cement her name in the music industry.

The singer, who real name is Nompumelelo Nzimande, hails from Hammarsdale in KwaZulu-Natal. She has a unique voice full of energy and her music is filled with catchy hooks, vibrant beats and inspiring lyrics.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Queen said her upbringing was characterised by a strong foundation of support, curiosity and a commitment to personal growth, all of which have profoundly influenced who she is today.

"This exposure helped me develop a well-rounded perspective on the world. My parents often engaged me in discussions about different topics which nurtured my critical thinking skills and encouraged open-mindedness," she said.

Queen Gojelicious quit her job as a corporate executive to follow her passion as a singer.

"I'm living an inspirational story that says never give up on your dream or passion. I don't believe there's an age restriction to follow your dreams. Music has no age. I started singing in church but I had to halt my passion and concentrate on my education."

The 51-year-old has put out six albums and said she hopes to work with Afrobeats artists.

“I am looking forward to collaborating with many musicians from South Africa and internationally. I draw my inspiration from a diverse range of sources. Nature often serves as a profound muse, with its intricate patterns and vibrant colours sparking creativity.

"Additionally I find motivation in the works of great artists, writers and thinkers throughout history, whose innovative ideas and unique perspectives challenge me to think differently.

"Personal experiences and the stories of those around me also fuel my inspiration, reminding me of the power of resilience and human connection. Ultimately it's the blend of these influences that shapes my creative journey."
