Tik-Toker Sipho Alphi Mkhwanazi has landed a role as a new reality TV show host.

Stina is a show about the ultimate test of loyalty, shocking confessions and jaw-dropping betrayals, according to the producers. It will air from Tuesday April 8, at 8pm, on Mzansi Magic.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Alphi says it's a great honour to be part of a show. He has always wanted to work with Mzansi Magic and MultiChoice. “So this is such a long-awaited opportunity for me. Working with Tebogo Keebine from Tribal Media is so great too because he’s such a brilliant storyteller. I’m very excited about being a part of Stina.”

The Daveyton-born content creator and budding comedian says he has been “very intentional” about the content he shares on social media. Part of that content addresses relationship issues which he says are relatable to his audience. Tribal Media thought he'd be best suited to tackle a new show of this nature.

“I am really intentional about penetrating mainstream media platforms. My social media career is meant to offer me a right of passage into such renowned platforms and it’s doing just that. Stina not only shows off my capabilities as a host but also allows me to broaden my horizons and my intentions to grow as a broadcaster and media personality,” he said.

Viewers of Stina will experience a rollercoaster of emotions and humour, but the essence of the show is understanding the dynamics of South African relationships. Alphi says he is enjoying the growth in his life and seeing all the plans he had for his career finally materialising.

“It’s so great to work on set and grow in a skill I’ve wanted to master for years. Television work is completely different from my normal TikTok videos that come to me with ease. That adjustment was tricky to navigate, but once I got into the swing of things, we sailed smoothly. The hours on set are long. So it’s important to pace yourself but also maintain consistent energy throughout the shoot,” he added.
