“I'm working on my album, just putting the final touches. I'm not in a rush to release it, just taking my time,” Khanyo said.

Event organiser Terry Mokoena-Maphwe said March marks the fifth year since the first nationwide lockdown was enforced during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.

“Due to the virus, dealing with the deaths of our loved ones was one of most difficult things we had to go through. It was hard for families and friends to come together to hold a dignified farewell, We are pleased to announce Life at 40’nBeyond in partnership with Soweto Meat Lovers and Ama50Plus Social Club in celebration of the lives of family members and friends, and the frontliners — doctors, nurses, teachers, men and women in blue who died, and those who survived the pandemic,” he said.
