Talent search TV show Ushuni Womhlaba has paid its top 3 winners.
Ushuni Womhlaba is a music talent competition that aired on SABC1 from July to October 2024. Rumours recently circulated that the winners of the show hadn't been paid. This week executive producer Thabo Mphelo said they are pleased and grateful that their partner Telkom came through and settled the outstanding payments to the winners of Ushuni Womhlaba season 1.
“Telkom has been supportive of the project from the first day and it is a good partner to have on board. We have learnt a lot from the first season and the challenges we had. It wasn’t easy, but the lessons we’ve learnt were important to us and the project. We can only become better and greater from such lessons,” he said.
Thabo told TshisaLIVE they are yet to pay other parties involved in the show's production.
“We are still finalising some of the outstanding payments and we are confident they will all be settled. When we are done closing the books of Ushuni Womhlaba season 1, we will start with the second season, which promises to be bigger, better and memorable.”
