Gagasi FM is celebrating its 19th birthday.
The youthful radio station broadcasting to Durban and surrounding areas in KwaZulu-Natal was launched on March 13 2006.
The celebration will take place on March 21 at Gagasi House in Cornubia, Durban, featuring Kings Of The Weekend, Slenda Da Dancing DJ, DJ Sox, DJ Kotin, Skye Wanda, DJ Boonu and many other artists.
Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Sphe Ngwenya, aka SPHEctacula from the Kings Of The Weekend (KOTW), said: “This is a celebration most definitely deserved from and by a station that’s been giving Mzansi 19 years of unparalleled radio and lifestyle dopeness and continues to push the envelope. Here’s a salute from the KOTW to the teenager doing amazing things.”
Andile Chili, aka DJ Boonu, says the station is celebrated across the province of KwaZulu-Natal for its efforts in changing the music culture. “Not so long ago we were celebrating the station's 10 years, today it is turning 19 years. What a great milestone. Happy birthday to Gagasi FM. Music should expect to be taken down memory lane from my set. I'm looking forward to my performance.”
