Actor Wiseman Mncube has apologised for his racial utterances about Big Brother season 5 contestant Ashley Ogle.
Wiseman referred to Ashley as icoloured, sparking an outcry from social media users that the My Brother's Keeper actor is racist.
His post read: “Kanti icoloured la Guluva lihlala eWentworth hehehe imashile Muvoteleni abaleke ngezinyawo zombili cause that stakkie's from the Gaali! (Guluva's coloured stays in Wentworth, it's hectic; vote for him so he runs away with both his legs because of that girl).
Wiseman apologised: “Kuthiwa eyonile uma ilibona iphutha iyaxolisa” (The one who sees his fault should apologise).
Wiseman's apology on X read: “Hi everyone, I would like to sincerely apologise to Ashley, her fans and anyone else I may have hurt with my words. What I meant as a joke was thoughtless and, in hindsight, inappropriate. I take full responsibility for my actions and the harm they may have caused. I now realise the weight of my words and the impact they can have and I am committed to being more mindful in the future. I will take this as a learning moment and do better. I am truly sorry. Love, Wiseman Mncube.”
