Congratulations are in order for 5FM presenter Nick Archibald on getting engaged to his longtime partner, Megan Attridge.

The 5 FM presenter exclusively revealed the news to TshisaLIVE.

The couple, both 27 years old, have been together for 12 years, having met on a school trip in 2013 to the Stanford Lake College near Tzaneen. So when planning the proposal, Nick decided to take her back to where it all began.

Nick, known for his charismatic personality on the 5FM 5 Drive team, shared the romantic details of the proposal with TshisaLIVE.

“To be very honest with you, I was just at peace. I have known for a very long time that this is the person I want to spend the rest of my life with. I just felt love and I wanted to be present. How it happened is a movie,” he said.

Megan's reaction to the proposal was emotional, with Nick revealing that she shed tears of joy, which in turn made him cry too.

Asked about their wedding plans, Nick said: “We will get to that when we need to. For right now, we're just enjoying the moment with our friends and family.”

The couple's 12-year journey has been nothing short of remarkable. Nick credits Megan with making him the person he is today, praising her love, support and care.

“I have been able to fall in love with different versions of Meg.

“I could talk about her for hours. Megan has made me the person I am today. 12 years of love, support, care, nurturing. We have truly been there for each other through everything. Between Cape Town and Stellenbosch, Joburg and Morgan Bay, South Africa and the UK — it has been nothing short of a journey.”
