Zakwe is on a weight loss journey

Rapper Zakwe is set to give viewers a front-row seat to his weight-loss journey on Moja Love's new show Heavyweight.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, the 37-year-old said he was excited to make a small-screen comeback showcasing something that was progressive and could help others who suffer from the same problem.

“It's every celebrity or artist's dream to have something like this. The show is about people battling to lose weight and trying hard to lose weight. It will show the journey, lifestyle and what I eat, going to a psychiatrist, people who motivated me to lose weight,” he said.

Niravana Nokwe shoots her shot

The search for the next Miss South Africa is under way and actress Nirvana Nokwe has entered the competition.

“Auditioning is something I'm quite familiar with as an actress, musician and entrepreneur, opening doors to unique opportunities and collaborations and today I audition for you my beloved South Africa,” she said.

“I propose that the sectors of sports, arts and culture as well as other humanities, collaborate to create a new brand of nation building. One that is rooted in consent education, equity design as well as cultural preservation. But we can't do this when the structures of these sectors remain a reflection of the unregulated and exclusionary past. Sports, arts and culture are the heart of social change and evolution.”

Roderick Jaftha falls on hard times

Actor Roderick Jaftha, best known for his role in the popular South African soap opera Generations, has spoken out about his recent struggles.

In a recent post, Roderick, who is now starring in ETV's Red Zone expressed his gratitude for the help he received and shared that his life is slowly taking a turn for the better.

“As bitter as things are at the minute, I think the wheel is slowly turning. Suddenly I'm getting offers. It will take a while, but the sun is slowly peeking its head above the clouds,” he said.

“It's OK to struggle. It's not unusual. It's not OK and certainly harder when you have kids.”
