Previously speaking on the matter, Scotts took to his social media timeline speaking on his frustrations with fame.
“This is the last time I give attention to this. I swear I'm not money. I can't be loved by anyone. I can't deal with the fact that my life can't be private any more.
“You can't even go to the mall and buy a pair of shoes, which is what I did for years — but now I have to think about being asked for pictures. And it's OK — I don't mind if it's just a picture, but I can't spend every minute of my life being Scotts Maphuma. When am I gonna be normal again? Has SA thought about that?
“So if SA doesn't care about us — whether you're hurt or not in the mood, it could be anything because it's not like I live in [the] studio and make music all the time — why should I understand always that these people are my fans?
“You tell a person that today I'm not feeling like taking pictures, all of a sudden you're rude. So I should give people my time and energy by force just because I'm who l am? I'm sorry. Cancel me, South Africa — maybe I'll be free from you.”

Amapiano star Scotts Maphuma has been lambasted for retaliating when asked to take pictures with his fans — but he says he is not bothered.
During his sit-down on the L-Tido Podcast, Scotts said he doesn't like being inconvenienced by the pressures of fans wanting to take pictures with him.
“I didn't want to be a celebrity. I didn't want to be famous. I'm not that kind of person. I love my space. I don't like pictures. Why do you want to take pictures?
Scotts said he is not worried by what people are saying — they need to understand he is a human being and they are not entitled to his attention. If they want to stop supporting him for that reason, they can.
“If I don't want to take a picture, then I don't want to. I don't feel like it. I don't think any celebrity owes anyone. I live according to God. No one made me reach where I am today and no one can remove me.”
