Popular sangoma and reality TV star Gogo Maweni has announced she will temporarily close her practice for face-to-face consultations due to her pregnancy.

The sangoma has three children — her firstborn son from her previous relationship with an unidentified American man, her second son with actor Sthembiso Khoza and another with former soccer star Siyabonga Zulu.

She and her husband Sabelo Mgube are expecting twins.

Taking to Instagram, Gogo Maweni, real name Makhotso Lee-Anne Mofokeng, said: "Please note that due to our pregnancy my ndumba will be closed for face-to-face consultations. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who believes in my work and their ancestors. I am truly grateful. Looking forward to seeing you all again after our twins are born."

Gogo Maweni has given her fans a glimpse into her preparations for motherhood.

In February she shared an update capturing a precious moment during her antenatal care visit, playing the recorded sound of both babies in her womb.

She played the heartbeats of the babies in the post.

“The best Valentine's gift ever, Sabelo,” she wrote.

Previously speaking to TshisaLIVE, Maweni said she and her husband had been trying to expand their family through in vitro fertilisation.

Maweni revealed she previously experienced miscarriages.

“We've been trying and haven't been getting it right.

“It's been a lot of tries. We had two embryos but lost one. Now we have one growing and Iwant to keep it to myself with no noise and no drama. I want the baby to grow.”
