Mzansi stars have come out in support of Scotts Maphuma after he received backlash.

The amapiano star has been criticised by his supporters because of reacting negatively when they want to take pictures of him.

His actions resulted in his live performances being met with a lukewarm reception after which he apologised to fans  for his conduct.

“Those who are angry with me, I'm sorry. It's a misunderstanding. It doesn't make sense for Scotts to have an attitude. Peace magents.

Weighing in on the matter, Limpopo star Makhadzi said while she was initially unimpressed with Scotts, she was happy he had finally apologised.

“At some point I felt like apologising on Scotts Maphuma's behalf because I realised he was just excited and forgot people who streamed his music including me. I am his fan but I was disappointed. I am glad he came back to his senses. We love him. The truth is we are nothing without you guys,” she wrote.

Makhadzi spoke about the importance of being on good terms with supporters.

“I remember owing Sars R6m and I had nothing, [but] through your support I managed to make peace with the government. We are nothing without you guys. I know when you love a person you mean it. And also, thank you for voting for me to win artist of the year at MMA25. I managed because of your vote.

“I never go to a mall unprepared to meet my fans. Maybe [it] is because ketseba tsokolo, hence association with fans gives me hope and peace. I know without them I will [have to] ask [for a] donation.”

Kalawa Jazmee record label owner and DJ Oskido, in a joint post on Instagram with Scotts, revealed they had had a sit-down amid the backlash.

“Spent some quality time with Scotts Maphuma today. Always room to listen, reflect and grow. Proud of the young king, exciting steps ahead,” he captioned the post.
