This year marks three years Zahara since died, and her family remains distraught over the sudden loss of the singer.
Zahara, whose real name was Bulelwa Mkutukana, died aged 36 in December 2023 after a short illness.
In March 2021 the family experienced another loss with the death of first born daughter Nomonde Mkhutukana.
On May 16 this year, Zahara's family visited her grave to clean the site and deliver fresh flowers in her memory, and visited Nomonde's grave next to the singer's resting place.
"It feels like yesterday that Zahara passed away. It's unbelievable she's no more. We are still grieving for her. It's a very tough pill to swallow but we don't have a choice but to accept it," Zahara's sister Bandezwa Mkutukana told TshisaLIVE.
"When we went to clean Zahara and my other sister's graves we had to call two guys to help remove overgrown grass around the graves.
"Once we are fine financially, we want to create a yard for the graves to be protected because people go there and do whatever they want. Some pray there with mphepho and do all kinds of things."
