The stakes were high and big hearts came together on Friday night at the luxurious Daytona Motors in Melrose, Johannesburg, as World Sports Betting hosted its first Charity Poker Evening, an event that combined celebrity power with purpose.

The exclusive, by-invitation-only affair brought together some of South Africa’s biggest celebrities including hip-hop stars Cassper Nyovest and K.O, former soccer players Morgan Gould and Junior Khanye, musicians DJ Warras and Ghost Hlubi, and model and influencer Faith Nketsi, in a spirited night of poker for a good cause.
Each celebrity hosted a table with seven guests, playing to raise funds for a charity of their choice in the “Poker For A Purpose” tournament.
Speaking to TshisaLIVE, hit maker Cassper described playing poker as fun and exciting.
“I'm gambling here for a good cause: to make a difference in somebody's life. But I'm preaching for responsible gambling. I'm happy to be here with great people,” he said.
After an evening filled with excitement, strategy and celebration, Faith’s team was victorious, securing R100,000 for her chosen charity, CHOC (Childhood Cancer Foundation SA).
