Socialite Mbuso Zulu, popularly known as “Ibhantinti Le Country and president of the Usengashintsha movement, has once again showed that true leadership begins with compassion.

This week, the township of Umlazi south of Durban witnessed an emotional moment as Mbuso, alongside Umlazi Discount Hardware, handed over a newly built home to the Manqele family. Their previous house had been devastated by the recent floods, leaving the family with little more than their faith.

“We lost everything. The water came like a thief in the night. But today, Mbuso gave us more than a roof — he gave us dignity back,” said Gogo Manqele

But Zulu's acts of kindness didn’t end there.

Just a few blocks away, 19-year-old Luyanda Ndlovu stood proudly holding his temporary driver’s licence certificate. Raised by his grandmother after losing both parents, Luyanda had recently passed his matric and completed a plumbing skills programme through a local initiative.

Yet with no transport and limited opportunities, his future seemed stuck in neutral — until Ibhantinti Le Country stepped in.

“I saw a young man with potential, but no means. So I called my people at Xolani’s Driving School and told them we’re getting Luyanda on the road — literally,” Mbuso said.

The driving school not only enrolled Luyanda for free but provided extra lessons to help him pass on his first try.

“He believed in me before I even believed in myself,” Luyanda said.
