After 13 years of captivating radio audiences, Selby “Selbeyonce” Mkhize is saying goodbye to Ukhozi FM.
The beloved presenter will host her final show on June 18, closing a chapter that began in 2012 when she joined the station as a contributor on the Umnyakazo Top20 show. Her infectious energy and bold personality quickly made her a listener favourite.
By 2014 Selby had landed a regular slot on Woza Nabangani Bakho, holding down the fort on Monday and Friday afternoons. A year later, she was welcomed as a full-time member of the Ukhozi FM family.
Known for her vibrant presence on and off air, Selbeyonce has earned many accolades over the years and became one of the station’s standout voices. Her larger-than-life persona and dedication to the craft helped solidify her place in the hearts of listeners.
Ukhozi FM’s business manager Lwazi Mthabela paid tribute to her impact, saying: “Selby has been an invaluable member of our family. Her commitment and enthusiasm have significantly contributed to the success of the station. She has represented the Ukhozi FM brand with pride and professionalism, winning awards and touching the hearts of many.”
While Selby hasn’t revealed her next move, the station confirmed she’s stepping down to pursue “new professional ventures”.
