Deejay and producer Karabo “DJ Karri” Mokgara has expressed disappointment after recovering drug addict Mohau Louis, popularly known as Alostro, was allegedly seen back on the streets.

In a viral video, Alostro was seen smoking and screaming “I'm free” months after being in rehab.

Alostro gained popularity during the Covid-19 lockdown as a nyaope addict in Pretoria.

Last year, DJ Karri took him under his wing and helped him get admitted to a rehabilitation centre to recover from drug addiction. He has been documenting his journey on social media.

He also helped him get a job at the rehabilitation facility to help others struggling with addiction. However, things took a turn for the worse when Alostro allegedly went back to smoking.

DJ Karri expressed his disappointment in a video, saying, “This breaks my heart because he had made a lot of progress, he was getting better and I don't understand what I saw on that video, especially after the effort he has made to recover.”

He continued: “It was only a matter of time for him to recover fully and get back on his feet and be fine. Only God knows.”

Sources close to Karri told TshisaLIVE Karri had invested time and money into Alostro's recovery, and the situation has taken a toll on him.

Last week, Alostro allegedly went missing after getting his first pay cheque. After that, Karrie said he was parting ways with him.

“At this point, it's up to him what he wants to do with his life, whether he wants to live with his aunt or come back to me. But as a man he will decide what he wants to do with his life.”
